Writing is a craft! Like any other craft, we can train it. Most teachers and professional writers will tell you to write as much as possible, to become a better writer. And yes, practice makes perfect. But, how and what we practice makes a huge difference. A structured approach can improve our writing skills in no time.
There is an uncountable number productivity systems in the world. All of them work and all of them don’t work. There is no, “one size fits all solution”. Most successful people use a combination of several solutions. They keep what works and throw away what doesn’t. I did the same and so should you. My current productivity system is combination of 3 powerful ideas everybody should know about.
Every night before I go to bed I look back at the day and plan for the next one. I started to write a journal because I read that many great man in history did the same. Marcus Aurelius, Ben Franklin, and Mark Twain. Recently I changed my journaling style. It was a small modification but it had great impact. I call it the performance journal.

The Dieselgate affair creates a difficult situation for VW customers. They have to decide, if they can trust VW. They have to decide, if they are going to buy another VW in the future. In such moments we can see the power, we as customers have. In the last couple of years I stopped doing business with many companies for various reasons. People today live like kings but are unhappy. I once witnessed two guys complaining about their lives. They seemed to live in another reality. According to them everything was bad. Their jobs, their children, society, food, politics and so on. I should mention, I witnessed this conversation in Germany in a train heading towards a commercial area. They wore suits and I would guess were about 20 something years old. It doesn’t sound like a terrible live for me. People are unhappy because they don’t appreciate what they have. It doesn’t matter if they have much or nothing. The Stoics knew that thousands of years ago. They used negative visualization to appreciate even the modest things.

To this day I regret that I didn’t make more friends at college. When I started studying I was a different person. I was very introverted, insecure and I had self-doubts. I was the first in my family to study at a German university and completely new to the environment. The first two semesters my goal was to survive. Looking back I realized how much suffering I could have avoided with help from friends. With that in mind I want to teach you 9 ways to make friends your first semester in college.
“Should I tell him he that his work is incorrect?”, asked my colleague. We write code in a Scrum team. Scrum is a process that involves a review. Developer A writes the code, developer B reviews it. Feedback and proposals for improvement are anticipated. Still, a review can be tough with difficult people, despite the environment. In general it is tough to tell people they did something wrong. But, you can avoid much conflict by using following guideline.
Until I read the 5 Love Languages I felt neglected by my family and some friends. Emphasis on felt. Both my family and friends showed me love. Unfortunately, they showed it in a language I haven’t appreciated.
According to Gary Chapman, the author of “The 5 Love Languages”, there are 5 different languages of love. Under language the author understands a way to express love. Each person has a preferred way to express and receive love. The other ways tend to get ignored. This ignorance leads to relationship problems.
