Quitting porn is one of the best decisions of you life! Porn has a toxic influence on your mind. It takes away your masculinity. It makes you impotent eventually. When you quit porn your life improves drastically. The problem is how to quit porn.
(I assume you’re addicted to porn or you realized that porn is a problem. At least you opened this page on how to quit porn. But, if you’re still unsure, read first my article on the toxic influence porn has on your mind (and Part 2). Even without a clear addiction symptoms I recommend quitting porn.)
What is Stoicism? Search for a Stoicism definition on the web and you will find few results. Almost all are academic; too academic. They are strong compressed and hard to understand. The answer is actually easy.
“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.” – Marcus Aurelius
The key to an easy to understand Stoicism definition is not to compress it into one sentence!
Finding somebody that admits publicly to his porn addiction is a hard task. I tried and failed for a long time. The feelings of guilt and shame are too big for most men to admit it. Instead, most porn addicts look for anonymous help in dubious forums. But, for my articles on porn addiction I wanted a real human being we can relate to. Recently, I found a man we all can relate to: Terry Crews.
“The thing that you think is imperfect about you is the thing that makes you who you are. It separates you from everybody else. I have a scar on my lip, and for years I hated it. But now its become my thing. It’s like, without it, I’m not me. You can’t be perfect, so enjoy your imperfections. I can’t stress that enough.” – Terry Crews
There is no how to for happiness. There is no magic pill that makes happy either. Instead, there are key factors that influence happiness. One of the most influential key factors is expectations.
Have you ever tried to solve a really hard problem? A problem you can’t google the answer to; or ask somebody else. A problem nobody ever had before you. The ability to solve such problems can change your life and is very valuable. If you want to learn how to solve hard problems you should read Problem Solving 101.
Ken Watanabe is the author of Problem Solving 101. (No, not the famous actor!) In the preface he explains why he wrote the book:
As you may have noticed I end all my articles with the phrase deo volente. Recently I started to use it in my private messages. Many people asked me what it means and why do I use it. So I’m going to explain what it means here.
In the first part of this article I was writing about how porn is unnatural, addictive and the influence on masculinity. Sadly that’s not everything. Porn also influences at least two more important areas in your life. Your social life and your sex life.
Porn is one of the biggest problems today. Most people think porn is harmless, but it isn’t. It affects us negative in many ways. It makes it hard to be masculine and impossible to be a stoic. If you want to be, like I, masculine and a stoic you have to stop watching porn. But first, you need to understand the toxic influence porn has on your mind.
“No one is immune from addiction; it afflicts people of all ages, races, classes, and professions.” – Patrick J. Kennedy
Most men are PUSSYS! Most men are weak, emotional cowards, that follow the masses. Stoicism demands to live according to nature. Man’s true nature is to be masculine! Man’s nature is to be strong, courageous and to lead. Embrace your masculinity to live according to nature!
Today’s meaning of human nature is the complete opposite to the meaning in ancient Greek or Rome. Both interpretations make sense and are valid. Yet, they lead to different meanings for “living according to nature.” But, they are not mutual exclusive. Actually, I think both meanings belong together. I think we need both meanings to live happy and good lives!
